Dazu Molko: "I believe 'Battle' to be the first of our albums to tell a story over the course of its 52 minutes. Our previous releases were really only collections of songs and even though the songs are ordered according to the musical flow, I hope that if you listen hard enough to the words that some kind of discernible thematic unity will begin to emerge."

Auf Deutsch: "Ich glaube, "Battle" ist das Erste von unseren Alben, welches eine Story in den 52 Minuten erzählt. Unsere vorherigen Veröffentlichungen waren nur Kollektionen von Songs und selbst wenn die Songs nach ihrem musikalischen Fluss geordnet waren, hoffe ich, dass, wenn man sich die Worte ganz genau anhört, eine Art wahrnehmbarer thematischer Einheit aufzukommen beginnt.

Weitere Details zum neuen Album
Bei einem geheimen Gig in London haben Placebo ein paar ihrer neuen Songs gespielt.
Darunter waren die Titel Ashtray Heart, Julian, Kitty Litter, Devils in the Details und außerdem ein Cover des Nik Kershaw Hits "Wouldn't it be good".
Brian Molko äußerte sich außerdem noch zum neuen Album: “We’re very excited about the new album, and my favourite track is ‘Speaking In Tongues’, but don’t let that influence you!”
"Wir sind sehr gespannt bezüglich des neuen Albums und mein favorisierter Song ist Speaking in tongues, aber das soll euch nicht beeinflussen!"

Und schon kann man ihn auf der offiziellen Placebohomepage vollkommen kostenlos und legal downloaden. Man sollte nur etwas Gedult mitbringen, denn wie erwartet sind die Server dort gerade etwas überlastet.

Edit Mittwoch, 10:30: Mittlerweile hat sich die Lage etwas normalisiert und der Song kann relativ problemlos heruntergeladen werden.
